Happy Father's Day

Today had to be the best father's day ever! I got to enjoy church this morning with Karen and Charlie and then spend time with Porter this afternoon.

Bruce showed a picture in church on the "big screen" of Porter and his Bla-Bla. The one to the left. Charlie was playing with his toys and not paying any attention until he heard Bruce say "Porter Jack..." He popped up and said in a raised voice, "There's Bean-Bun and his Bla-Bla!" Bean-Bun is a line from the Kung Fu Panda movie and Porter was referred to as Bean-Bun in Karen's belly. Special moment!

After church we went to the NICU and because it was Father's Day, Karen let me have the kangaroo time. He fell asleep on my chest and I fell asleep in the chair holding him. It was awesome.

Porter is doing great, He is still on the nasal cannula's but they have reduced the amount of air that flows through it. He is still breathing "room air" so we are certain it won't be long and he will require no respiratory help.

His feeding are going better too, one of our favorite nurses (Tonya) discovered that he is better able to digest the milk on his tummy. So, he has been increased from 3 mL to 4 mL's every 4 hours. He is 2 lb 13 oz. now and we are anticipating the 3 lb. mark this week.
