Good Morning!!
Porter is doing good! He had a good night!! He gained 20g and now he is 3lbs 10oz, his feedings are going good and he is tolerating them well!! He is doing a pretty good job maintaining his temp too, his nurse said he was a little warm this morning so she turned the bed temp down a little more. So I'll say that the blood transfusion did him well and it was just a little scary for me and dad!!
Dad and I had a great day with him yesterday, he nursed and did well!! He also had a visit from Gammy, GiGi, and Pop yesterday too!!
Thank you all for all the prayers and thoughts, please keep them going!! God is so very good!!

Karen and Wes. Justin and I's heart and prayers are going out to you. Just reading you blog brings back memories of Asher being in NICU. Trust me - I know this is hard and it really doesn't matter how many people say "it is for the best" "he has great care" etc. I know that I was only encouraged by comments that pertained to him coming home and making progress. I am just so jealous that you are getting kangaroo time!! I never got that with Asher. SO with all the negative, sad and angry acknowledged...let me say this! I am so grateful for the doctors and nurses that could care for Asher without my emotional bend of "holding him and nursing him will be best". They knew it would overexcite him and drain his calories. As a new mom - I just couldn't get there. Okay - honestly - i have a lot to say here. You need to call me. If you can't reach me at 972.444.2101 call me at 214.498.4013. Even if you never get to the phone - know that i love you and we will be lifting you and Wes, Porter and brother up! You will have him home one day it will be a joyous one!

wow!! as i sit and read i am taken back only a couple of months ago..my heart goes out to both of you. it's such a struggle to watch your baby go through this but he sounds like he is doing awesome and is a strong little boy. he's in our prayers. becky doty
